The Robocon 2006 rules will be out in a few days. This time, the finals for robocon 2006 are in Malaysia. I have seen the theme animation video and it seems difficult than the previous years' theme. This time there ane no baals or blocks but huge discs that the robots need to lift.
The nationals for India will be held at MIT pune on March 5 ,6 and 7, 2006. Lets hope, this year more teams participate from India and that we are able to see good competition. |

Due to some minor problems in the configuration of apache, the sites on vesit.edu were down for few days. The problems have have been rectified and all sites are up and running presently.
The problem was caused due to the accidental update to Cpanel's release version which caused subdomain conflicts with WHM.The Stable version of cpanel has been restored on vesit.edu.
We are likely to get a new server and a UPS after which, we will have to reinstall cpanel on that server. But until it comes lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that this server doesn't give any problems further. :D |

There is some serious problem with Apache and Cpanel's AWStats.This happened due to the Force update of Apache that was done to repair the corrupt apache and the creation of some subdomains after it.Apache was configured from outside Cpanel and the creation of subdomains from cpanel have made the httpd.conf file of apache inconsistent.
The problem is being rectified by Manish, Ashay and Pushkar,now that i'm out of vesit for my GRE. I think they will have to install it allover again on the server.
Something needs to be do be done about the vesit server to which attention was not given properly by the concerned authority. But now that Prof. Kanade is given the charge of the server and the vesit.edu site, lets hope to see something happening in the VESIT server room. :)

There was an attempted theft in the VESIT Trust's office in the MMS building on Sunday,21st August 05. The culprit is said to have entered through the IT lab on the 2nd floor after breaking the lock and also locks of some doors coming in the way between the I lab and the Trust's office were broken.The Locks are missing and assumed to be thrown by the culprit.
This is the first time i've realised the importance of the Trust's office[ didn't know much about it earlier ;) ]. It is reported that some papers were searched by the culprit and the loss is not known yet. After the rains of 26th July when most of the college official documents were destroyed in the BCR, this is the 2nd case where documents come into the picture. |
